On last Sunday, the Washington DC Metropolitan area was treated to some end of the summer fun with the Beach Boys performing at the Filene Center at Wolf Trap!
Thousands of people braved the afternoon rain to come down to have some fun. Thankfully, right before they started the rain stopped and it cleared up. The ground may have been a little wet and muddy but people were there to have a good time and lots of fun.
The Beach Boys are a classic band from the 1960’s whose songs are still as popular as ever today as they were when they first came out.
Its members feature Mike Love, Al Jardine, Brian Wilson, and Bruce Johnston. Each did a great job and put on a great show.
As you can imagine, there were plenty of beach balls getting smacked around the seats and the enthusiasm filled the air. With a simplistic stage, they let the music be the centerpiece of their concert. And what was great was that they didn’t shy away from the songs that made them famous.
Songs such as 409, I Get Around, Surfin’ USA, and many more were sung to the crowds delight. I have to say considering the band is over 50 years old, even their songs from the 1060’s still sound just as relevant today as they have in the past.
I was pleasantly surprised to see people of all ages, both young (young children) and older fans filled the venue. It’s always good to see young children introduced and fans of classic rock where it’s more about the music than the artists. The Beach Boys have always put their heart and soul into their songs and that’s what’s most important.
So if you find yourself in or around one of their performances I would strongly recommend that you get yourself and your family or friends tickets and go see a legendary band put on quite a show!
